IN COLLABORATION WITH NCOI

Supply Chain Strategy & Finance

Supply Chains too many times develop by chance and according to the operational needs of the day rather than through a pre-thought-out plan. This is perfectly logical and even defensible, because this hands-oon approach is of course ideally suited to keep the flow of goods in the supply chain moving. Service levels are very often viewed almost as the holy grail, and that this objective must be achieved at all costs. However, it is very useful to consider what the company’s market and product strategy really is, and whether the objectives used are suitable for maintaining that strategy. This quickly leads us into a balancing act between turnover and costs, but also (working) capital will play a role here.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

– some of the most common business strategies and how they relate to each other;
– the concept of the Supply Chain triangle and the balance between service, cost and cash;
– the approach around the cost of inventory from the Finance standpoint and from the Supply Chain standpoint;
– the relationship between business strategies and the tension in the Supply Chain triangle;
– what it takes to set up the Supply Chain to support the business strategy and what objectives to use;
– how the IBP (Integrated Business Planning) process makes the connection between financial planning and Supply Chain operations.

Circularity and Sustainability in Supply Chains

Sustainability and circular economy: you can’t open a newspaper or read a newsletter and these terms fly around your ears. Often, the main thoughts here are reducing carbon emissions, using recycled materials, or meeting legal reporting standards. While these in themselves are very useful and important goals, the issue and the approach required is much broader than that. Supply chain professionals will play a role in this that cannot be underestimated. Do you want to understand what is coming at you as a supply chain professional and how you can take initiatives yourself that create real impact? Then don’t miss this course!

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

– the key concepts and frameworks around sustainability in the broader sense;
– the basics of the circular economy and how it encompasses much more than recycling;
– the intersections these areas have with end-to-end Supply Chain Management (spoiler alert: everywhere);
– the steps you can take yourself to make your Supply Chain a driver towards sustainability within your company.
